Creating a Zip File

 

Folders and files can be copied or moved to a zip file from many of the table views.  When you’ve located folders or files that you would like to copy or move to a zip file, switch to the table view and select the files that you would like to zip.  When files that can be zipped are selected in the table view, the "Add to Zip" icon  and the "Move to Zip" icon  on the data view toolbar are enabled.  Clicking the add to zip icon will leave the files in their current location and add them to the zip file that you specify.  Clicking the move to zip icon will add the files to the zip file that you specify and delete the files from their current location.

 

Files may also be zipped via a popup menu that can be accessed with a right mouse click when items are selected in the table view.

 

Tip:  If you are unsure of what a file is used for, move the file to a zip file 1st, test your system and then delete the zip file after you are satisfied that the file is not necessary.  This is an good idea especially if you do not have the Recycle Bin enabled.
